Paul McIlvaine performs in a wide variety of tenor repertoire.  His most notable roles include
Florestan in Fidelio, Dick Johnson in La Fanciulla del West, the title roles in Verdi’s Otello
and Mascagni’s L’Amico Fritz,  Siegmund in Die Walkure, Erik in The Flying Dutchman, Sam
in Susannah, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, Luigi in Il
Tabarro, Lieutenant Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, the Witch in Hansel & Gretel, Paco in La
Vida Breve, Alfredo in La Traviata, and Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca.  He is equally at home
with contemporary roles, including four World Premiere Operas.  He has appeared as the
Male Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, Michael in Emperor Norton, The Preacher in Yonder
Mountain, Captain Silvio in Doctor Miracle, and the title role in The Decorator.
