GARRY GRICE, stage director
As well as singing leading tenor roles with professional opera companies and symphony
orchestras in USA, Canada, Germany and Switzerland, Mr. Grice has extensive stage
directing experience. His directing positions include Artistic Director—Indiana Opera North,
Director of Opera Theater—University of Notre Dame, Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony,
Eureka Springs, Arkansas; Director of Opera Theater—Indiana University at South Bend,
Director of Opera Theater—Washington State University, Director of Apprentice Program—
Maine Opera Association, Director of Opera—Quisisana and Artistic Director—Shawnee
Garry’s productions include I Pagliacci, Die Zauberflöte, Die Fledermaus, Madama Butterfly,
La Bohème, Le Nozze di Figaro, L’Elisir d’amore, Rigoletto, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Les Contes d’
Hoffmann, The Fairy Queen, Don Giovanni and Hansel and Gretel among many others.
Garry is often the set designer as well as stage director, most recently designing the set for
Pocono Lively Arts production of Company and Amici Opera's production of Torquato Tasso.
Upcoming productions in which he will be designing the set as well as stage directing, include,
Mikado and Amahl and the Night Visitors.
